The Cairn String Quartet

ABOUT THE CAIRN QUARTET

The Cairn String Quartet is composed of senior students from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama:

Formed in 2005, the Cairn Quartet play a wide range of classical and popular music for weddings, corporate entertainment and all types of events and functions.

From their base in Glasgow the Cairn Quartet travel throughout Scotland and Ireland, playing at events of all sizes - from intimate venues to large-scale functions.

In addition to training at the RSAMD, the musicians of the Cairn Quartet have held masterclasses with the Lindsay Quartet, Maggini Quartet, Charles Pelz, Barbara Westphal, Scott Dickinson, and the BT Scottish Ensemble.

Past performances have included a pre-concert performance for Vladimir Ashkenazy at the Royal Concert Hall, and many performances for Glasgow's Lord Provost, including playing at the City Chambers.

The Cairn Quartet have also played at the City Halls, Blair Castle, McLellan Galleries, Kelvingrove Gallery, Pollock House and Darver Castle in Ireland.
